Dear Diary, 𝕔𝕒𝕟𝒢𝓙𝒜𝑬。𝓬𝖭
Today is the first day of our winter vacation, and Im so excited to have some time off from school! I woke up early in the morning, and as soon as I got dressed, I ran downstairs to tell my mom about my plans for the day. She smiled and said, \”Lets see what adventures you have in store today, little one.\”
First things first, I decided to practice my English. Ive been studying English for two years now, and I love it more and more every day. My teacher, Ms. Smith, always tells us that practice makes perfect, so I set aside an hour to practice reading, writing, and speaking.
I started with reading a chapter from \”The Secret Garden.\” Its such a magical story about a girl named Mary who discovers a hidden garden and transforms it into a place of joy and healing. As I read along, I highlighted some new words and looked them up in my dictionary. My favorite word today was \”resilience,\” which means the ability to become strong or healthy again after something bad happens. I think thats such an important quality to have in life.
After that, I moved on to writing. I decided to write a short story about a little penguin named Penguin Pete who goes on an adventure to find the missing pieces of his home—the Arctic ice caps. I drew a picture of Penguin Pete and stuck it in my diary so I can refer back to it when I continue writing later this week.
Speaking of speaking, I recorded myself reading a poem called \”The Owl and the Pussycat\” from my English textbook. Listening back, I noticed a few mistakes, but thats okay! Practice makes perfect, right? Ill keep working on it until my pronunciation is perfect.
In the afternoon, my parents suggested we go for a walk in the park. It was such a beautiful day outside—the sun was shining, and there were no clouds in the sky. We walked along the path by the lake and saw ducks swimming and birds chirping. It was so peaceful and relaxing.
On our way back home, we stopped by the ice rink and watched some kids practicing their skating skills. It looked like so much fun! Next year, Im going to try skating for sure. Maybe even enroll in some lessons to improve my balance and coordination.
In the evening, we had dinner with my grandparents. They brought over their famous homemade dumplings, which are always a treat! We sat around the table chatting and laughing while enjoying our meal. My grandpa told us stories about his travels around the world when he was younger—it was fascinating to hear about different cultures and traditions.
As the day comes to an end, I feel grateful for all the opportunities that came my way today. Practicing English made me feel more confident in my abilities, spending time in nature was refreshing, and spending quality time with family is always precious.
I cant wait to see what tomorrow brings! Maybe Ill learn how to cook some simple dishes from my mom or maybe well go for a bike ride together. Whatever it is, I know it will be another wonderful day in our winter vacation.
Goodnight, Diary. See you tomorrow!
